Sports are commonly defined as any physical activity that involves some degree of physical exertion, including basketball or netball. Skateboarding and gymnastics both require strength and flexibility, while tennis and softball help develop muscles used for more strenuous activities.

Golf is a widely recognized sport that has been known for decades as a premier competitive athletic event. Tennis has been recognized as a competitive sport since the first Olympics in ancient Greece. Many people do not realize that other sports exist beyond the previously listed examples. A perfect example would be figure skating, which is a popular and highly skilled athletic activity. Skating is a very precise sport in which there is a great deal of space and a large number of variables that need to be considered. Therefore, skaters must be extremely accurate and skilled at judging their jumps or turns.

Ultimately, sports provide individuals with a great way to compete against others, as well as to experience a physical activity that will enhance their overall health and well-being. For this reason, many individuals invest in sports as a means to develop their overall physical ability and skill set.
